Nonexistent Movement

The time and date says it all. Go ahead; I'll give you a second to look.

Totally random, indeed. Quite insignificant really. Or is it?

It's the middle of the night during the fourth week of an autumn month. So what? It simply means that it has been seven months since I first created this "blog" (if it could have even been called such a thing). And, it also means that I spend too much time awake during odd hours of the night. Within that time, I had also found myself one year older at another insignificant age, closer to death, and maybe just that much the wiser. (No, I'm not dying. But aren't we all dying in a sense?)

Again, so what? Originally, this site was meant to showcase artistic talent by ?ilipino artists. What came of it quickly was a literary outlet just for me. The original vision may not exactly have been fulfilled after all, but maybe it's because "?ilipino" has not quite acquired a full definition. In addition, it has not even garnered any attention. Simply put, however, if you are ?ilipino, yourself, then you'll already know it.

What's the point then? Good question. There isn't exactly one here. If I really think about it, there's something there. This has a future. I am not just doing this for the sake of doing things. I am hoping for this to become a movement. I just wanted to mark a day when the movement began (for myself mostly), and hopefully chart its progress, or lack of it, through this place. My nonexistent point, however, is that I really haven't been thinking about it, ergo the movement is nonexistent as well. Maybe once I do fire up some neurons, something will happen. Then, I'll be here once again.

Your New Future Awaits

Today marks the 15th anniversary of my arrival in the States. Pilipino ako noong umalis ako at sumakay sa eroplano. Then I was Filipino when I arrived, first stopping in Honolulu (how fitting), then landing at LAX.

Fifteen years later, what am I now? That may take another fifteen years to answer. Just give me some time.
